After being arrested in the Dominican Republic, Tekashi 6ix9ine is under a six-month travel restriction, preventing him from leaving the country.
As per the statements of Felix Portes, a criminal lawyer based in the Dominican Republic, 6ix9ine and his group engaged in an assault against two producers, which stemmed from a dispute involving the rapper’s girlfriend. However, 6ix9ine attempted to leave the Dominican Republic but was apprehended prior to boarding his private plane.
Additionally, Portes used Instagram to announce that 6ix9ine had been placed on a “migration alert,” and as of now, his location is “unknown.”
“Trying to leave the country on a private plane, Tekashi 69 turned out to have MIGRATION ALERT,” Portes wrote. “His trip was aborted. The popular artist is on the run, his whereabouts unknown since there is an arrest warrant issued for beatings and injuries and threats.”
In August, 6ix9ine was arrested in Florida due to a series of traffic violations, specifically for speeding. According to Page Six, the rapper was pulled over in June for driving at 135 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Florida Turnpike. Upon further inspection, law enforcement discovered that 6ix9ine was driving an unregistered vehicle and lacked proper car insurance.
As a result, 6ix9ine was taken into custody at a Palm Beach County jail on charges of failing to appear in court. He was later released after posting a $2,000 bond.
