Actor Keke Palmer has filed for sole legal and physical custody of her baby boy, whom she shares with fitness instructor Darius Jackson.
On Thursday, Palmer filed the legal documents, though it’s unclear what led to her decision. In the filing, per Page Six, there was an option for Palmer to allow Jackson joint custody, which she decided against. Another interesting find in the petition was Palmer’s choice to cover “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth.”
Palmer and Jackson welcomed Leodis in February 2023. Since then, it appears their relationship has been on the rocks. Jackson famously tweeted, “You a mom,” after Palmer was seen being serenaded by Usher in July 2023 while rocking a black mesh dress that Jackson wasn’t too fond of. Both parties stripped most remnants of a romance from their social media platforms. However, it seemed they had made amends since then. Unfortunately, things may have taken a turn once again.
Neither has made any public comments about the custody filing, and it’s unlikely they will. Despite much chatter online about their relationship status, Jackson and Palmer have refrained from revealing too much of what goes on behind the scenes since their supposed break-ups to make-ups. Yet, just days ago, Jackson tweeted about “being betrayed by someone,” and it’s unknown if that person was Keke. Nevertheless, hopefully, these two can have a healthy co-parenting arrangement for the sake of their son.
Update: Darius Jackson’s brother, Sarunas Jackson, took to X (formerly Twitter) to chime in on recent news of Keke Palmer filing for sole custody and alleging that Darius put his hands on her.
Sarunas tweeted, “The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative person I have EVER encountered in my entire life.. Abuses almost everyone. Y’all will see.. Just send positive energy to the babies.. Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it AT ALL. Wow. So damn sad.”
Darius retweeted the now-deleted tweet.
