The-Dream surrendered to NYPD on Wednesday morning, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported that law enforcement sources said The-Dream walked into a New York precinct at 8:30 AM ET and was booked on two felony counts, assault and strangulation, along with misdemeanor counts of assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. Police had reportedly wanted to question him about an alleged incident in April 2013.
The charges stem from allegations by Lydia, the mother of his son. TMZ reported last week that she claims he punched, kicked and strangled her while she was pregnant, and that she reported the incident to police months later.
A representative for The-Dream said he went to the precinct to address what they called false allegations and that he is innocent of the charges. Later reports said he posted $20,000 bail and was ordered to stay away from Lydia.
These are allegations and charges only. The case is ongoing, and we will update this story as it develops.
