Lauryn Hill has decided to take a small hiatus from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour featuring the Fugees.
The 8x Grammy winner took to Instagram on Tuesday to update fans on her health after a few selected tour dates had to be canceled and rescheduled due to severe vocal strain.
“As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month,” she wrote.
“I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time. In order to prevent any long-term negative affect on my voice and body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medicine completely.”
In her post, she revealed that most of the remaining shows would have to be rescheduled for early 2024.
Fans in Philly can expect to see Ms. Lauryn Hill since she has decided to close out the tour near her hometown of New Jersey, among family and friends.
“The show in PHILLY this weekend IS STILL HAPPENING,” she wrote. “We already had to move this show once, and being so close to New Jersey, it’s basically hometown for us—so we’ll close out the year with one final show amongst friends and family!”
Due to the overwhelming response, the singer said more cities would be added to the tour, and new dates would be announced soon.
