The number of people sickened by salmonella from cantaloupes has more than doubled in a week, causing the FDA to expand its recall.

U.S. health officials have since recalled three more brands of whole and pre-cut cantaloupes as the number of people who have become ill by salmonella has more than doubled this week, ABC News reported.

Roughly 100 people across 32 states have gotten sick from the contaminated fruits, including those in Arizona, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ohio, with the highest number of cases.

Two people in Minnesota have died, and 45 people are hospitalized in the country.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s original recall included Malichita brand whole cantaloupe, Vinyard brand pre-cut cantaloupe, and ALDI whole cantaloupe and pre-cut fruit products, the outlet reported. But as of Friday, Rudy brand whole cantaloupes Freshness Guaranteed brand, and RaceTrac brand pre-cut cantaloupes were added to the list.

Health officials say anyone who purchased the recalled fruits should discard them and wash surfaces that touched them with hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher.
