Naya Rivera Issues Statement, Says She Was Not Dropped From Columbia Records

Naya Rivera did not like claims from Billboard.com and other media outlets that she had been dropped from her label, Columbia Records. In fact, she disliked it so much that she had her publicist release a statement. Let me warn you before you read this statement, it reads like a middle school drop out with more than 4 syllables in her name, that wears synthetic hair and has a gold tooth wrote it. It’s a hot ghetto mess and if Naya wants us to believe a word out of her or her publicist’s mouth, she may need to hire one that can construct a press release properly. Read below.

“The newest story claiming that Naya Rivera was dropped from her recording contract with Columbia Records is absolutely false. If the ‘news’ outlets who put out this story had bothered to contact anyone from her team they would have learned this was false. To be clear, any rumors or statements made as fact, that Naya Rivera was fired or let go from ‘Glee’ or dropped from her recording contract, are categorically false. Someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya’s good name and the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not. Naya’s attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights.”

Who wrote this foolishness of a statement? This reads like an angry teenager and not like someone who is trying to set the record straight. First of all the sentence “ If the ‘news’ outlets who put out this story had bothered to contact anyone from her team they would have learned this was false” is rude and ghetto. If by “news” outlet you mean BILLBOARD, who got a statement FROM Columbia Records, then sis … 

Then she said “someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya’s good name”.  Who could possibly be out here to damage her name? Didn’t she say she was going to damage Big Sean? Could Karma be out to damage her?  When I read “the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not” I was immediately over it and wanted nothing more than to give Naya’s publicist a crash course in Microsoft Word so that she would learn no to ignore the green underline. It’s your friend. It means well. “Naya’s attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights.” One problem, there is nothing Naya’s attorneys can do about what was written. None of it was slanderous. Bye Felicia. 

Sounds to me like an attempt to do damage control gone wrong. We don’t believe you, Naya, hire better people.
