It was a time to be alive when Flavor Flav had his hit show, “Flavor of Love.” Many of us can remember the rapper and his ex-girlfriend Nicole Alexander, A/K/A Hoopz from the 2006 show.
Hoopz, the winner of season 1, and the 64-year-old reality star/musician recently crossed paths at the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Wednesday, PEOPLE reported. The two hugged, with Hoopz saying it was “super crazy” that they had run into each other.
If you don’t remember, the reality show aired in the early 2000s. 20 women competed to steal Flav’s heart. Hoopz walked away with the grand prize, beating fellow contestant, Tiffany “New York” Pollard.
Flav and Hoopz went on to date for a brief moment following the show but eventually split, which resulted in two more seasons of the show. Pollard, 41, returned for the second edition before landing her own spin off of the show, “I love New York.”
Hoopz spoke with VH1 about her romance with Flav, saying, “No lies, it really was,” she said in 2016 when the network reminded her “you don’t have a non-disclosure agreement anymore.”
“I was impressed by the person he was. I am just telling you that it truly was [a relationship]. I still love him. I’m for real.”
Hoopz also talked about going to London with the rapper and watching him perform. “[We] are very close. He and I are super cool friends and all that you saw was really real. I saw him, not too long ago in L.A. and just gave him a hug and I told him thank you. I will always have respect for Flav, he changed my life.”
