The Jonathan Majors trial has taken a dramatic turn with text messages being presented that seemingly prove he assaulted his ex-girlfriend months before being arrested.

During Friday’s court hearing, a text message was read by Grace Jabbari, which appeared to be Majors trying to persuade her not to seek medical attention for a September 2022 head injury that was allegedly sustained during an altercation between them.

“I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital,” Majors texted Jabbari before adding, “They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to investigation even if you do lie, and they suspect something.”

Jabbari then follows up, assuring Majors that she would only tell the hospital staff, “I bumped my head.” However, as Jabbari read the messages in court, she became overcome with emotion. Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway proceeded to read the remaining texts, which outlined Jabarri’s intense pain from the injury and her devotion to keeping it a secret.

“I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep, and I need some stronger painkillers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you,” Jabbari wrote to Majors.

The conversation was originally ruled inadmissible, though that decision was reversed. These are not the messages from the March 2023 domestic violence incident in question. However, it seems the prosecution is trying to create a timeline that shows abuse was taking place in the relationship well before Majors was arrested.

The “Creed III” star has pleaded not guilty to assault charges. He could spend at least a year in jail if convicted.
