“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candiace Dillard can breathe a sigh of relief after the woman her husband was allegedly having an affair with admitted to lying about the entire thing.
The reality star sat down with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast this week, where she addressed the nasty rumors that plagued her husband, Chris Bassett. A woman named Ayanna Williams previously sat down with controversial YouTuber Tasha K, claiming she’d been seeing Bassett behind Dillard’s back. The admission became a huge talking point amongst the “Real Housewives of Potomac” ladies. However, Williams decided to finally confess that her story was a lie.
“Is it nice to be vindicated? I guess,” Dillard shared on the show. However, she did express her disdain for castmate Robyn Dixon discussing and pushing the narrative that Bassett was a cheater.
“At the end of the day, I don’t like that this was someone who I considered a big sister and we have fallen apart. That to me is the loss,” Dillard said of her now-strained friendship with Dixon.
The backlash from Dixon seems incredibly unsettling, considering that she had admitted to knowing about her own husband, Juan Dixon, cheating on her during the pandemic. Juan was also fired from his basketball coaching job at Coppin State University for allegedly failing to intervene during a sexual assault and blackmail incident that he had knowledge of. Despite these instances, Dixon and best friend Gizelle Bryant seemingly turned their attention to Bassett and Dillard’s relationship.
Bassett maintained his innocence the entire time Williams’ story ran rampant online.
