Former NBA G League player Chance Comanche and his girlfriend were arrested in connection to the kidnapping and murder of a missing woman whose body was found in the Las Vegas desert.

According to Las Vegas police, Comanche, 27, and girlfriend Sakari Harnden, 19, were initially arrested last week for kidnapping Harnden’s friend Marayna Rodgers but are now facing murder charges following the discovery of her remains.

On Friday, The Kings announced that Comanche was released from the team.

According to reports, Rodgers, who was reported missing on December 7, was last seen with friends two days earlier, having planned to meet Harnden and Comanche.

Police said, “early in the investigation, detectives suspected foul play and obtained evidence to arrest Harnden and her boyfriend Comanche for their role in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers.”

After the arrests, police obtained information that led them to find Rodgers’ remains in the Henderson desert, about 20 miles from Las Vegas.

The investigation determined that Sakari Harnden and Chance Comanche “were responsible for the murder of Rodgers.”

Court documents show that Harnden is being charged with murder and theft, both felonies, and kidnapping.

So far, Comanche has not been charged with murder, but police say both suspects’ charges would be “amended to open murder through coordination with the Clark County District Attorney’s office.”

According to court documents, Comanche was arrested Friday in Sacramento by the FBI and is awaiting extradition to Nevada.

As for Harnden, she was arrested on Wednesday and went to court on Thursday and Sunday, with bond set at $500,000.
