Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards found himself in hot water after telling his Instagram model side piece to get an abortion.
On Monday, Edwards apologized for telling the woman, Dream Paige, to terminate her pregnancy after she informed him that she was expecting a child from him. According to Edwards, his comments were made “in the heat of a moment” and do not represent his actual feelings.
“All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them further at this time,” he wrote in a social media statement.

His apology comes after Paige shared several screenshots of her conversation with Edwards. In the messages, she reveals to him that she is pregnant with his child, which did not go over well. Edwards immediately let Paige know he was not interested in having a child with her. Upon seeing the pregnancy test, he wrote, “Hell nawl can’t do dis.” When Paige asks him what are his next steps, he immediately says, “Get a abortion”
The influencer informed Edwards that she’d already had an abortion years prior and regretted it. However, Edwards didn’t appear moved by the revelation and told Paige, “You can’t force a kid in da world.” Then, in a desperate twist, Edwards lets Paige know he will send her some money but asks that she send him videos of her taking the abortion medication, which is typically taken in two doses days apart. Paige made several attempts to ask for proof that she’d begun the necessary medicines. Paige also shared an image of $100,000 being transferred to her in exchange for the abortion. Paige ultimately sent him a video and let him know she’d take the remaining medication to complete the abortion in 24 to 48 hours.
For now, it seems that Edwards has gotten off baby-free with one woman, though his girlfriend, Jeanine Robles, is expecting a child from him.
