Actor Vin Diesel is in hot water after his former employee accused him of a disturbing sexual assault in 2010.
On Thursday, Diesel’s former assistant, Asta Jonasson, filed a lawsuit accusing the Hollywood A-lister of sexual battery during the filming of “Fast Five” in Atlanta. Jonasson alleges that Diesel took her to his suite at the St. Regis Hotel, where he allegedly groped her breasts and then forced her to touch his private area before masturbating in front of her. He attempted to pull down her underwear before she was able to escape the hotel room and run down the hallway.
Following the alleged assault, Samantha Vincent, Diesel’s sister, and president of his company, One Race, reportedly terminated Jonasson shortly after, leading Asta to believe she was discarded after resisting Diesel’s advances.
As Variety reported, the lawsuit was filed under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover-Up Accountability Act, a 2022 legislation allowing victims a one-year window to file claims beyond the usual statute of limitations. If Diesel’s sister indeed fired her after the alleged assault, then the Act would undoubtedly apply in Jonasson’s case. The law is similar to New York’s now expired, Adult Survivors Act, which is what Cassie famously sued Diddy under in November 2023.
To make matters worse, Jonasson also outlined another separate situation a few days before the Diesel encounter, where a supervisor from Diesel’s company similarly propositioned her at the same hotel. Jonasson also declined these advances.Â
“Ms. Jonasson felt like she was a piece of trash to be discarded. Ms. Jonasson felt helpless, her self-esteem was demolished, and she questioned her own skills and whether a successful career would require her to trade her body for advancement,” the lawsuit states.Â
Diesel has not responded publicly to the claims.
