During his recent chat with Shannon Sharpe, Katt Williams took some serious shots at his fellow comedian, Rickey Smiley.
The funny man joined “Club Shay Shay,” where he addressed Sharpe’s previous February 2023 interview with Smiley. During their chat, Sharpe praised Smiley’s role as the hood Santa Claus in “Friday After Next,” which starred Williams as the famed Money Mike. However, Williams confronted Sharpe for suggesting that Smiley’s part was more significant than Money Mike’s. According to Williams, Smiley was dragging him on set, telling people that it was he who deserved the role of Money Mike, though Williams strongly disagrees that anyone else could have played the hilarious pimp.
“Your story is the Rickey Smiley that couldn’t even do curse words because he had a Christian fanbase; he was gon’ play the pimp? Why you didn’t ask him why has he played a woman in more movies than he’s played a man?” Williams fired off at Sharpe.
Williams says he was so annoyed with Smiley that he placed a clause in his contract that stated that he would not work with him again unless Smiley wore a dress. Ironically enough, their next film together was “First Sunday,” where Smiley played a female church elder. When Sharpe questioned why Williams would require Smiley to play a woman, he replied, “That’s where he’s the believable actor. Him and Tyler Perry can’t play a man to save they life. They play good women, and I believe that the best actor should be in the best role.”
Smiley nor Perry has commented on the spicy discussion, though a battle of the comedians would be pretty hilarious to witness.
