Britney Spears denies that she is in the process of creating a new album.
Throughout this week, reports have suggested that Britney is gearing up for a significant comeback and is collaborating with renowned pop artists Charli XCX and Julia Michaels to compose tracks for her first album in nearly a decade. Nevertheless, Spears has used her Instagram platform to dismiss these rumors by stating, “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!”
She added, “When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!!”
Michaels and Spears have a history of collaboration, though the exact details of their working relationship remain undisclosed. Michaels is acknowledged as a songwriter for Spears’ track “Slumber Party,” which was featured on her most recent studio album, “Glory” (2016).
Spears went on to describe herself as a “ghostwriter,” expressing her preference for maintaining anonymity in this role. Additionally, she also responded to comments suggesting that her book, “The Woman in Me,” was published without her consent. Despite these allegations, the book achieved national bestseller status, amassing over 1.1 million copies sold within its first week, spanning print copies, pre-sales, e-books, and audiobooks.
