The man who soared across a courtroom floor to attack a Las Vegas judge is now facing many consequences, including solitary confinement.
Deobra Redden has been isolated in a jail cell following his violent attack on Judge Mary Kay Holthus earlier this week. The video footage shows Redden jumping onto the judge’s bench, punching her in the head, and pulling her hair. Luckily, court staffers were able to rush to her aid.
Ridden now faces several additional charges on top of the ones he already had, including coercion with force or threat of force, extortion, intimidating public officers/others with the use of force, disregard for the safety of person/property, and battery by prisoner, probationer, or parolee, TMZ reported.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that Redden was immediately classified as a “2C” inmate, which is the most restrictive classification in the Clark County Jail.
Redeem, who was in court that day for a previous conviction for attempted battery with substantial bodily harm, now gets very limited time outside his jail cell and must eat alone.
The incident was prompted after Redden’s attorney had asked Judge Holthus for parole, but she chose to sentence the 3-time felon instead, which seems to be what triggered his act of rage.
