Jonathan Majors is finally responding to a recent verdict that found him guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in New York.

In a recent “Good Morning America” interview,  Majors, reacting to the guilty verdict, denied any wrongdoing and expressed feeling “absolutely shocked and afraid.”

“I’m standing there and the verdict comes down,” Majors recalled. “I say, ‘How is that possible?’ Based off the evidence — based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence — how is that possible?”

Majors has been convicted of misdemeanor charges related to harassment and assault in a domestic dispute with ex-Grace Jabbari. His sentencing on Feb. 6 carries the prospect of jail time or probation.

According to reports, he was arrested on March 25, 2023 for assaulting then-girlfriend Jabbari in a car. Jabbari testified that she received injuries to her head and finger after Majors forcefully retrieved his phone during a dispute over a text message.

During the interview with ABC News anchor Linsey Davis, Majors vehemently denied any involvement in causing Jabbari’s injuries, stating with certainty that he was not responsible for her fractured finger and the laceration behind her ear.

“That did not happen,” Majors said. He added that he doesn’t know how Jabbari got hurt.

“I wish to God I knew,” he said. “That would give clarity, that would give me some type of peace about it.”

In the two-week trial, Jabbari testified extensively, while Majors opted not to. Post the guilty verdict, Disney’s Marvel Studios severed ties with Majors, impacting his anticipated roles, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” in 2026.

It’s noteworthy that Disney owns both Marvel Studios and ABC, the network that broadcasted Majors’ interview on “GMA.”

In the trial, his defense argued she was the aggressor that night, suggesting Jabbari fabricated the allegations for revenge after their two-year relationship ended on the night of the assault.

Later during the interview, Majors said that he regretted not “stepping out” the relationship sooner.

“I shouldn’t have been in the car. I shouldn’t have stepped out of the relationship. I shouldn’t have been in the relationship,” Majors said. “If I’m not in the car, none of this is happening. If I leave the relationship, none of this is happening. If I’m man enough or brave enough to say, ‘I want to see someone else’ or ‘I’m done now,’ I’m not in that car. We’re not here. I’m responsible for those things.”

“But none of her injuries,” Davis reiterated.

“Can’t say that,” Majors responded. “None of her injuries. I was reckless with her heart, not with her body,” he added. “My hands have never struck a woman — ever.”

According to his attorney Priya Chaudhry, Majors still “has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

He said, “I pray I do,” return to Hollywood. “But it’s God’s plan and God’s timing.”
