A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty to all charges related to the shooting of his former friend A$AP Relli.

On Monday, the “Brand New” rapper entered his plea, which stems from the violent November 6, 2021, confrontation. On that fateful night, Rocky allegedly shot at Relli following an argument. The bullet grazed his hands, requiring medical treatment for his three injured knuckles. Rocky was charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

Rocky has maintained his innocence, but Relli has shared that the New York MC has grown big-headed since becoming famous. This would ultimately lead to their falling out and the shooting. However, Rocky’s defense team has stated they are only interested in having their day in court to present the evidence.

“I want to get this done and over so he can start enjoying his family and move on,” said Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina. “We’re going to be quiet, and we’re going to try this (case) in a courtroom, and when we do, facts will come out that show that he’s truly innocent and he’s a victim in this case.”

In November 2023, Judge M.L. Villar of the Los Angeles County Superior Court determined there was enough compelling evidence to allow the case against Rocky to proceed to trial. Relli provided testimony, describing witnessing Rocky outside a parking garage, with the encounter partially captured on surveillance video. Relli claimed that Rocky drew a gun from his waistband, pointed it towards his stomach, and uttered threatening words, stating, “I’ll kill you right now,” ABC 7 explains.

Rocky has remained free on bond since his arrest in April 2022 at Los Angeles International Airport. He is now a father of two with billionaire partner Rihanna, who has not spoken publicly about his legal troubles.
