Texas authorities say three people are dead and at least two others injured following an overnight shooting at a home that may have been used as a short-term rental in Katy, Texas.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said calls reporting the shooting came in around 2 a.m. Sunday morning at the home where up to about 20 people had gathered. Those who attended appear to have been in their 20s, ABC News reported.
A man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene, and another man died at the hospital, Gonzalez confirmed.
Two others are receiving treatment at the hospital, but their conditions have not been released. Authorities said they believe that others may have been transported privately to other nearby hospitals.
Officials are working to learn what caused the shooting and how many people were involved in the shooting. Multiple people were shot inside the home, and there is evidence that rounds were fired on the street outside the home, according to law enforcement.
