A Georgia pageant winner has been arrested in connection on charges of felony murder, aggravated battery, and cruelty to children after the death of an 18-month-old boy, officials said Saturday.
Trinity Madison Poague, 18, of Donalsonville, was arrested Friday according to Sumter County, Georgia, jail records.
“The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia,” the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said in a released statement.
Hospital staff tried to save the baby, but he died, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported.
Poague has no bond.
“Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the GBI statement said.
Poague was crowned Miss Donaldsonville last year and competed in the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant, 14 News reported.
