Trina Braxton opened up to Baller Alert during The 2024 Urban One Honors about her journey through grief since losing her sister, Traci Braxton. In a moment on the star-studded red carpet, she shared the challenges she’s been facing and how she finds solace in her family.
Reflecting on the grieving process, Trina acknowledged the individual moments of pain and triggered reactions within the family. “Everyone has their own moments at different times. There’s one thing that can be triggering or reactive based on a certain situation or a certain conversation. We’re still taking it one day at a time,” she expressed. “We miss her every day.”
In the midst of sadness, Trina emphasized the importance of cherishing her remaining family members. “We just love on each other because time is short, and you just never know.”
Highlighting the unique bond of sisterhood, Trina spoke about having sisters as best friends. “Everyone that’s in your circle is not always in your corner. So, in sisterhood, even if you’re mad at each other, we’re going to bind together. You always have someone in your circle and corner no matter what’s going on.”
Trina’s response about a Braxton Family Values reboot was intriguing. She paused and said, “I don’t know,” suggesting the possibility of a reboot soon and creating anticipation for fans of the series.
For those unfamiliar with Braxton Family Values, the show followed the lives of sisters Toni, Traci, Towanda, Tamar, Trina, and matriarch Evelyn Braxton. Premiering in 2011, the series quickly became a fan favorite. When it ended in 2020, it seemed like the end, making the potential reboot a surprising development for viewers and Braxton family fans alike.
The 20th-anniversary celebration of TV One at The Urban One Honors showcased the network’s enduring success. The event featured top-tier presenters and performers, including Teyana Taylor, Bebe Winans, Damon Little, Angie Stone, and October London.
Adding an extra layer of depth to the celebration, GRAMMY Award-winning singer and actress LeToya Luckett returned to host the event’s “Backstage Pass,” providing exclusive interviews with the show’s honorees, performers, and presenters.
