More details are being revealed about Courtney Clenney’s parents and their involvement in her murder case.
Kim and Deborah Clenney were arrested Tuesday. Authorities say they tampered with evidence after their daughter killed her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, inside the Miami condo they shared. Police believe the parents accessed the victim’s laptop after locating a group chat between Kim, Deborah, and their attorneys.
“Are there any PIN/passwords we can try before you see her tomorrow?” Kim wrote in one message. He later correctly guessed the passcode, which was only numbers and no letters. The following day, he texted, “Hell yeah! That PIN worked!”
One attorney urged Kim not to look through the device. However, in one message, he admitted that he had looked through files.
“I had barely opened it and was starting to poke around, but we started a video call, so I stopped,” Kim confirmed, according to the arrest warrant. “Never opened a file, so I didn’t see anything.”
Their daughter Courtney fatally stabbed Obumseli on April 3rd, 2022, ending an extremely turbulent relationship, which was marked by documented instances of abuse from Courtney. Despite the influencer claiming self-defense, video and audio have shown her to be the aggressor. She was not arrested until August 2022, charged with second-degree murder in a case that has sparked outrage in what the public perceives to be a case of white privilege.
Courtney has been held without bond while her parents have been charged with evidence tampering.
