Wendy Williams is sharing her off-screen challenges in the upcoming two-part Lifetime documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” airing February 24 and 25.
In a raw and emotional trailer released on Thursday, Williams bravely confronts her struggles with alcohol abuse, shedding tears as she opens up about the financial strain stemming from her guardianship.
The documentary includes Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., her sister Wanda, and other family members, who support her in overcoming physical health challenges and breaking free from financial constraints.
“We all make choices in life,” Wanda says. “We all go through our challenges. She’s still a person.”
According to Kevin Hunter Jr, her court-appointed guardian hasn’t “done a good job of protecting” her.
He said that his mom makes it seem “like everything’s OK.” However, “in reality, there’s something wrong going on.”
In one scene, Wendy accuses the people around her of “stealing money from me.”
In February 2022, it was reported that Wells Fargo alleged that Wendy Williams was “of unsound mind” and needed guardianship due to being a “victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.”
“I have no money,” she declares in the documentary.
“We are her family,” Wanda says as she chokes back tears, “and you tell me that I’m not capable of taking care of my sister. What would you do? What should I do?”
Despite being under guardianship, Wendy Williams seems to be shifting her focus towards spending quality time with her family, as indicated in the trailer.
“I love being famous,” Williams declares, “but family is everything — everything.”
Wendy Williams, 59, has been absent from public view for more than 200 days, with the trailer indicating that even her family is unaware of her whereabouts.
It’s uncertain if this documentary is the same project that Williams was seen filming in early 2023.
Last month, Radio host Miss Jones recently disclosed that she attempted a wellness check on Wendy Williams but was informed she was “several months too late,” as Wendy had relocated to Florida with her family.
