If you were expecting to see Beyonce hit the stage at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, you’re in for some bad news.
Queen Bey will not be performing at this year’s ceremony, as it was once believed. In fact, social media thought Bey might hit the stage to honor the late Tina Turner, who passed away in May 2023 after a battle with kidney disease and intestinal cancer. Bey was close with Turner, with the two even performing together at the 2008 Grammys. Despite Bey sharing a heartfelt tribute to Turner on social media after her death, her reps have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she will not be partaking in a tribute. It’s unclear if Bey will attend the ceremony at all, considering that she is not nominated this year. However, she has amassed 29 throughout her career.
Though Bey won’t be present, there are several other acts promising to bring forth their own stellar performances, such as SZA, Billie Eilish, Luke Combs, Burna Boy, and Travis Scott. Presenters will include Oprah Winfrey, Lionel Richie, Lenny Kravitz, and more. All eyes will be on SZA, who is most nominated for nine nods. Victoria Monét is right behind her with seven nominations of her own.
Trevor Noah will host the show, which airs live on CBS from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. EST.
