While accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award Sunday night during the Grammy Awards, Jay Z criticized the Academy for never awarding Beyoncé with the ‘Album of the Year’ award despite her leading in Grammy wins.
“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys and everyone. But never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work,” Jay-Z said. “Think about that. The most Grammys, never won album of the year, and you know, some of you will go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed. Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don’t belong in a category.”
