A Michigan judge dismissed a case in which a transgender woman sued her ex-boyfriend for discarding her surgically removed testicles, also rejecting the ex-boyfriend’s counterclaim of feeling “humiliated.”
According to reports, Brianna Kingsley, 40, filed a small claims petition last year claiming her ex, William Wojciechowski, 37, “retains possession of my surgically extracted testicles, preserved in a Mason jar, kept in the fridge next to the eggs.”
As stated in her handwritten affidavit, Kingsley insisted that her “human remains specimen” be returned and sought $6,500 in damages.
“We’re talking about my nuts.… I wanted them in my fridge—no his,” Kingsley told the court. “The damages were the loss of these nuts.”
Wojciechowski, having discarded the testicles, filed a counterclaim for the same amount, asserting he felt “humiliated” by the widespread news coverage.
According to the Detroit News, Judge Jeremy Bowie rejected both claims, declaring the matter “a wash,” emphasizing that his decision is final and not subject to appeal.
The judge highlighted the challenges of assessing potential damages in this peculiar case.
“I can put a dollar amount on, say, if you were missing work at $16 an hour,” he said. “But as to testicles, I can’t really put a number on it.”
The judge pointed out that Kingsley had the opportunity to retrieve her testicles with the assistance of a sheriff’s deputy in January 2023, following her release from a three-day jail stay and a $100 fine for violating a personal protection order filed by her ex-boyfriend.
“We allow a one-time visit with a sheriff’s officer in situations like that for people to go back to get their belongings,” Bowie said.
“They were rotting in my fridge, and it was disgusting—I’ve got food in there I wanted to eat,” he said. “She didn’t keep them in a biohazard container like she was supposed to.”
Reportedly, the state covered her $20,000 surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in March 2022 due to her disability
“The state paid for that. You didn’t. You’re not going to be unjustly enriched,” the judge told her.
After their split in December 2022, she went to Wojciechowski’s house for her belongings, but he denied entry after he felt she was harassing him.
Bowie said he had a right to deny her entry because she’d already been inside a month earlier.
Kingsley appeared to poke fun at her missing testicles in a TikTok video in 2022 titled “The Unboxing of Dee’s Nutz.”
In the video, she lightheartedly reveals a bag marked as a biohazard from a box, cheekily gesturing that it contains her testicles, and concludes the scene with a dance.
