Jhené Aiko has found herself in some legal issues!
Legal documents acquired by The Blast reveal that Aiko is facing allegations of negligence for a July 2022 collision at a traffic signal. The plaintiff, identified as Genelle Ligot, alleges that at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California, Aiko rear-ended her vehicle while they were both stopped at a red light.
“[Ligot] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity,” the documents read.
Reportedly, Ligot has experienced “wage loss, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses, general damage, property damage, and loss of earning capacity.” Additionally, Ligot is also requesting a jury trial, alleging that Aiko’s negligence led to her injuries.
This isn’t the first time Aiko found herself in court. Back in August, both she and her partner, Big Sean, filed for a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker whose unsettling actions had been escalating. As reported by TMZ, the couple sought legal intervention to obtain a restraining order against 29-year-old Ian Craig Lees. Aiko was purportedly “fearing for her life” as Lees had been appearing at multiple events and concerts and had even trespassed into her and Sean’s Pacific Palisades residence, which they share with their children.
