The Chicago Bulls are entangled in controversy as their ex-star player, Scottie Pippen, confronts sexual assault and harassment allegations from a woman claiming to be his former girlfriend, Chyvette A. Valentine.
Legal documents obtained by The Blast reveal several complaints against Pippen, the NBA team, and his family.
On Wednesday, Valentine filed a lawsuit in Cook County, Illinois, naming the Chicago Bulls, Scottie Pippen, ex-wife Larsa Pippen, and brother Carl T. Pippen as responsible for her alleged suffering, detailing a history of harassment spanning over 30 years.
In the lawsuit, Valentine claims to have had an on-and-off relationship with Scottie from 1987 to 1993. Their romance allegedly ended after she was raped by the Pippen brothers, leading to the birth of her late son Devonte Pippen, who was tragically murdered in 2011.
After the alleged relationship ended, Valentine claims that Scottie, leveraging his Chicago Bulls status, has persistently stalked and harassed her, resulting in significant mental and emotional distress.
Due to Scottie’s alleged stalking, she claims to have lost housing, employment, and career opportunities. When attempting to file a police report, Scottie allegedly leveraged his connections to cancel her request. She further asserts that he used his medical connections to falsify reports, portraying her as “mentally ill.”
According to the courts, Valentine seeks $250 million in a jury trial, alleging stalking, harassment, emotional distress, death threats, defamation, child support for her late son, and more from the Chicago Bulls, Scottie, and his family.
In a heartfelt letter, Valentine disclosed her decision to sue, reiterating claims of harassment from the Pippen family and holding the NBA team accountable for not helping her.
She wrote: “Over the past 30 years and counting, I have endured a series of tormenting acts perpetrated by Scottie Pippen, Carl T. Pippen, and Larsa Pippen, with the Chicago Bulls organization failing to address or rectify the situation. These acts include stalking, harassment, and rape, among others.”
“Despite my repeated attempts to seek recourse through appropriate channels, the Chicago Bulls organization has negligently allowed these crimes to persist unchecked.” She added that the Pippen family had inflicted “profound emotional distress, physical harm, and irreparable damage” to her well-being.
According to reports, She is accusing the Chicago Bulls of a “blatant disregard for the law and basic human decency,” while urging them to take responsibility for not providing a “safe and respectful environment” for the team’s associates.
Valentine asserts that she will “take legal action to seek justice and restitution for the damages inflicted” upon her if the Chicago Bulls do not promptly address her case within 30 days.
Vantine previously sued Pippen in 2019 over expenses incurred during their alleged relationship.
