Instagram users can now edit direct messages within 15 minutes of sending, thanks to a feature enabled by engineers at Meta Platforms Inc.
To edit a sent message on Instagram, users can press and hold the message, triggering a drop-down menu with an “edit” option, as explained in a Meta blog post.
Users can now pin up to three group or one-on-one chats at the top of their inbox on Instagram. To do this, swipe left or tap and hold on the chat, then choose the “pin” option.
Meta’s latest update also allows Instagram users to activate “read receipts,” informing others when their messages have been read.
This announcement coincided with a day of outages across Meta’s online platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads.
