As revealed in recent divorce filings, Wendy Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, is seeking access to her financial records.
According to RadarOnline, Hunter has been pursuing this since the involvement of court-appointed guardian attorney Sabrina Morrissey, referring to a past mediation where they reportedly “agreed to provide statements to accounts and bank records they claimed to have gotten permission from the New York court to provide.”
Hunter says his payments stopped when Wells Fargo took Wendy Williams’ money. In a meeting, the mediator told Hunter’s team, “The reality is that there is no more money.”
Recently, Wendy echoed those same sentiments during her Lifetime docu-series, “Where is Wendy Williams?”
“I have no money,” she said. “And let me tell you something: if it happens to me, it can happen to you.”
According to the divorce filings, Hunter emailed the mediator and copied everyone involved, expressing his frustration about the lack of transparency and perceived bad faith in the mediation process when his request didn’t materialize in 2022.
It wasn’t until Feb. 8 2023, that “a letter was received from [Wendy’s] counsel, stating that the Guardian was only providing bank statements for the months of November and December of 2022.”
Kevin stated that the recent proposal to examine two months of Wendy’s records included additional conditions that hadn’t been discussed.
As of July 2023, nothing had changed despite several requests. In a recent update, Hunter was instructed to provide a copy of his divorce settlement with the talk show host as part of his ongoing lawsuit against an insurance company.
In a new court motion, Wendy Williams’ ex-husband asked to reconsider the order to share his financial records, stating that his divorce settlement wasn’t related to the current case. Hunter worries that complying might reveal private deals and details about third parties not involved.
