Legal records show that Nickelodeon hired convicted child molesters and pedophiles to work on kids’ shows, including five predators and two accused of pedophilia.
HBO’s “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids’ TV” recently revealed the unknown abuse allegations on Nickelodeon sets, with child actors from shows like “All That,” “The Amanda Show,” “Drake & Josh,” and “Victorious” sharing their testimonies.
According to documents obtained by the DailyMail, The network claims to have improved its safeguards.
Former child star Drake Bell, now 37, disclosed that at age 15, he was sexually assaulted by Brian Peck, a Nickelodeon dialogue coach.
In 2003, Peck was arrested. The following year, he received a 16-month jail sentence and was mandated to register as a sex offender after pleading no contest to two child sexual abuse charges.
According to reports, Peck now works for Disney.
Bell, who starred alongside Josh Peck (who is not related to Brian Peck) on “Drake & Josh,” also admitted guilt to attempted child endangerment and distributing harmful content to minors in 2021.
The documentary also revealed that production assistant, Jason Handy, described himself as a full blown “pedophile.”
According to reports, he sent a masturbation photo to Brandi Carlile, who at the time was an 11-year-old guest-star on “The Amanda Show.”
In 2004, Handy was sentenced to six years in prison after he pleaded no contest to felony counts of lewd acts on a 9-year-old child, distributing sexually explicit material and a misdemeanor of child sexual exploitation.
Following new charges of indecent liberties with a child and violations of sex offender registry laws, he was returned to prison with a sentence extending until 2038.
Nickelodeon talent manager, Marty Weiss, was also convicted of lewd acts with a 12-year-old male client.
In 2012, a former client informed the police that Weiss began molesting him when he was 11 years old, enduring approximately 30 to 40 instances of abuse over the course of three years.
According to reports, he only served less than six months in jail.
Cody Longo, star of “Hollywood Heights,” was arrested in 2019 for allegedly assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
He later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in 2021. Last year, at 34, he was found dead at his home in Austin, Texas, after struggling with alcoholism.
Another production assistant, Ezell Channel, was hired by Nickelodeon in 2005 despite a prior conviction for lewd acts with a child.
In that same year, he was reported to the police for allegedly luring two minors into a studio, showing them pornography, and touching them inappropriately.

Additionally, Dan Schneider, a producer of Nickelodeon kids’ shows, was accused of fostering a culture of bullying, sexism, and racism.
While not directly implicated in sexual misconduct, the documentary presented footage of Schneider in a hot tub with child star Amanda Bynes.
As of Monday, he has denied the allegations.
“Everything that happened on the shows Dan ran was carefully scrutinized by dozens of involved adults, and approved by the network.”
“If there was an actual problem with the scenes that some people, now years later are ‘sexualizing,’ they would be taken down, but they are not, they are aired constantly all over the world today still, enjoyed by both kids and parents.”
