Puff Daddy and J. Lo are making headlines once again, but this time Fuse TV is in the center of it all. You may remember hearing rumors that Puff Daddy was interested in acquiring the network and put in a hefty bid. Now sources are saying that J. Lo has topped that bid.
Diddy offered up $200 million for Fuse TV in an attempt to expand his new Revolt TV network. Jennifer Lopez’ Nuvo TV bid slightly higher at $226 million and won the bidding war to purchase the Fuse network from MSG. “Fuse was such a perfect fit for [Revolt]. But having worked with Jennifer on ‘[American] Idol,’ I’m not surprised she and her team prevailed,” ex-Fuse chief Eric Sherman told the New York Post.
J. Lo joined Nuvo TV as a minority owner in 2012. The English-language cable channel marketed toward American Latinos currently reaches 34 million households and could double that by acquiring Fuse. Revolt TV, Puff’s revolutionary reintroduction to real music television, launched in late 2013 and can be watched through your cable service provider or on Revolt.tv
Note: As of a few weeks ago Diddy goes by Puff Daddy again, FYI.
