Beyoncé has unveiled her eighth studio album, “Act II: Cowboy Carter,” adding another gem to her discography. This latest project is part of her “Renaissance” series and made its debut at midnight on Friday. However, due to time zone differences, fans in countries like New Zealand and Australia were treated to an early listen, as reported by PEOPLE.

Just days before the album’s release, the 32-time Grammy winner set the record straight with her fans, stating, “This ain’t a country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.” And true to her word, the album spans 27 tracks that include a mix of genres with a significant influence from country music, featuring some of the genre’s most notable artists.

Nick Cannon took to his Instagram on release day to commend Beyoncé for showcasing artists deserving of recognition. He shared a series of videos highlighting Black country music artists featured on “Cowboy Carter,” including:

– “@shaboozey- Vegas (Colors)”
– “@thereynaroberts-Louisiana”
– “@williejones-Bachelorettes on Broadway”
– “@tanneradell-From the Block Performance”

Shaboozey, who is celebrated for his unique blend of hip-hop and country, is featured on the track “Spaghettii.” The album also includes contributions from other prominent Black country artists such as Rhiannon Giddens, Tanner Adell, and Willie Jones. A noteworthy collaboration on the album is Beyoncé’s cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird,” featuring Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts. Jones brings his flair to “Just for Fun,” while Giddens’s banjo playing enriches “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Cannon’s acknowledgment received a heartfelt response, with Reyna Roberts commenting, “Thank you so much for posting 🙏🏾🤠 I appreciate you, have a wonderful day!” This interaction underscores the album’s impact and the appreciation for the artists involved. “Act II: Cowboy Carter” not only broadens Beyoncé’s musical landscape but also shines a spotlight on the rich contributions of Black artists to country music.
