JT is still not fazed by GloRilla‘s “backyard BBQ” comment that was made during their recent public feud.
On Sunday, the City Girls rapper took the stage in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, as the tenth stop of her tour. While performing, JT paused momentarily to address the “backyard BBQ” statement.
“Let me say one motherf*cking thing. B*tches be having a lot to say,” she began. “But I ain’t have one wack cookout yet. We been lit city to city, state to motherf*cking state.”
To catch you up to speed, the two rappers’ public beef allegedly kicked off last year. Rumors of a rift between GloRilla and JT started swirling around following an incident at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards last summer. According to popular sources, the tension between the two artists escalated after GloRilla threw a drink and a purse at JT after feeling snubbed by the Miami rapper at the ceremony. This confrontation reportedly led to a physical altercation between the two.
Less than a year later, things heated up between the two once again after GloRilla released the mixtape “Ehhthang Ehhthang.” In one of the tracks, “Aite,” the Memphis rapper mentioned wanting unity within the female rap industry and hinted at a dispute with JT.
“I just pray one day the bad bitches would come together/ ‘Cause Cardi and Nicki on a track would break some fuckin’ records/ Me and JT ain’t the best of friends but we ain’t beefin,’” GloRilla raps.
However, JT didn’t seem too pleased with the lyrics and decided to address her issues on social media. One Instagram user questioned if the rumors of GloRilla slapping JT were ever confirmed, which the “Sidewayz” rapper quickly denied.
“SHE NEVER SLAPPED ME EVER!!! EVER NEVER like you all find you all someone to play with.” JT, in a follow up post, added, “I been said she didn’t! She the one who went radio silent! Played into, released a song about slapping rap b*tches, now it’s female unity?? CORNY!!!!!”
Shortly after, all hell broke loose and turned into a full-out feud on X (formerly known as Twitter). The exchange quickly escalated, with each artist dropping snappy comebacks and subtle digs. In one of the exchanges, GloRilla took shots at JT’s tour, referring to the venues as “backyard bbq.” But, of course, JT had a few comebacks of her own, recalling GloRilla’s attempt at rebranding her stage presence to be more sexual while performing at the 2023 BET awards.
Nevertheless, the tension between these ladies has seemed to simmer down despite JT’s recent statement. Let’s hope the two rappers can put their differences aside and give some banging hits!
