Brendan Paul

A man previously linked to accusations regarding Diddy‘s involvement in drug-related activities has now been formally charged with felony drug possession.

According to TMZ, former Syracuse University basketball player Brendan Paul has been charged with one count of felony drug possession following his arrest in Miami back in March. The report also raises questions about how this legal development might impact ongoing federal investigations involving Diddy.

The 25-year-old pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

“We entered Brendan’s plea of not guilty in Court today,” stated Brian Bieber, attorney for Paul, emphasizing that they aim to address the case in the courtroom rather than through public speculation.

The accusations of being a “mule” originated from a lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. The suit alleges that Paul was involved in acquiring and distributing “drugs and guns” for Diddy.

Diddy, who has faced multiple lawsuits in recent months, has continued to deny these allegations. In a previous statement, his attorney, Shawn Holley, dismissed Rod as “a liar” and suggested that the motives behind the lawsuit were financial.

“Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday,” said Holley. “His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.”

Despite attempts to provide evidence to Rod’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, Holley stated that they were ignored. Diddy’s legal team plans to address these allegations in court and take appropriate action against those involved.

Criticism of Diddy following the lawsuits has been widespread, including a modified lyric in a recent Coachella performance of “TiK ToK” by Reneé Rapp and Kesha.

Last December, Diddy issued a statement on social media affirming his commitment to defending his name and family. Additionally, he faced abuse allegations in a lawsuit from Cassie, which was swiftly settled. A representative for Diddy clarified that the settlement did not imply an admission of guilt.
