Coi Leray Distances Herself from Father Benzino After His Viral R. Kelly Remarks

During a recent We In Miami podcast episode, Benzino passionately talked about giving everyone a second chance. He said there are problems with the law, especially about when someone is old enough to say yes to certain things, like sex.

The former Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star asked why R. Kelly got such a long punishment when you can legally say yes at age 16 in America.

Benzino thinks authorities know that some people are doing things with younger teenagers even though it’s against the law.

While he was upset with people who do inappropriate activities with younger kids, Benzino also said there are other things to consider in R. Kelly’s situation.

He mentioned that R. Kelly had a hard childhood and didn’t like that people were making money from documentaries about him.

He also blamed the parents of the kids who were involved with R. Kelly, saying they knew what was going on and let it happen — which makes some people think differently about what R. Kelly did.

Following this, Benzino’s daughter Coi Leray took to Twitter to share that she’s cut ties with her father, seemingly responding to fans reaching out to her following her dad’s viral interview.

“I want everybody to know I want nothing to do with anything my father has going on,” Leray wrote on X on Wednesday. “I haven’t spoken to him in over a year and I don’t condone or respect any of them interviews he got going on. I don’t respect his decisions and I really want nothing to do with him please dont [sic] even think of me when you see him.”

She continued, “Sharing the same DNA and blood DOESN’T make us FAMILY . Loyalty , boundaries , respect , teaching , guidance , love , patience , encouragement MAKES US FAMILY.”

“Keep me away from people who try to ‘get their lick back’ please. And thank you.”

She concluded: “I can’t wait to have a kid one day. I can’t wait to look her/him in the eye and tell them how much I love them.”
