The Miami Dolphins just got another receiver for their elite core. This morning, ESPN reported that the Dolphins and Odell Beckham Jr. agreed to a one-year deal worth $3 million, with incentives that can push its max value to $8.25 million.

We reported in March, when the 31-year-old bid his farewell to the Baltimore Ravens, that the Miami Dolphins had interest in signing him as he went down to the 305 for a visit at the facility. This marks his third team in three years, and a major shift in his career. Despite this, he has continued to adapt and make the best of his new situation.

A month later, the two sides came to terms, and now Dolphins Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa adds to his list of weapons in Miami. In 16 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season, including the playoffs, OBJ finished with 39 receptions, accumulating 599 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His ankle injury early in the season hampered his ability to fully produce, but Miami could be different. A warm-weather city is what he loves, and he never got to play to his fullest ability last season.

The 31-year-old receiver could bring a much-needed form of leadership in a locker room that is full of talented wide receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, to name a few. The ability the speed of these receivers should open up a lot of space for OBJ in their system. A much-needed piece to a team that was often hampered by injuries would love to add another high-level player to their roster at a reasonable price. Dolphins fans should be excited about their new addition to their offensive core.
