As the WNBA season begins, there is newfound excitement surrounding the ladies. Games have sold out in the preseason, even in Canada. And for the first time this season, two teams traveled by charter.
The 2023 WNBA MVP and WNBAPA Executive board member Breanna Stewart announced on X, formerly Twitter that this progress for the W is a win.
An extra $21 million has been placed into chartering for the ladies this season. The Indiana Fever posted a video of them on their chartered flight as they traveled Monday to take on the Connecticut Sun Tuesday night in Caitlin Clark’s debut.
It’ll be a sold-out arena tonight as the Fever faces off against a Sun team with a talented duo of Rachel Branham in the backcourt and Alyssa Thomas in the front court.
The Las Vegas Aces will be given their rings and have their first game as they try to win another championship. Diana Taurasi leads the Phoenix Mercury on the road against A’ja Wilson as the Ace’s rookies make their debuts. Caitlin Clark’s ex-teammate, Kate Martin, will also make her debut with the Aces tonight. Teammate rookie Dyaisha Fair were both congratulated on graduating after practice.
The New York Liberty are hoping to make their way back to the Finals as they face off against the Washington Mystics. The nightcap complimenting the Aces will be the Minnesota Lynx and the Seattle Storm.
