Akademiks is denying the rape allegations that were brought forth against him in a new lawsuit.
According to the media personality, he cannot say too much regarding his case but did allude to the lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, being a money-hungry attorney who shakes down wealthy men with baseless claims. However, Akademiks made it clear that he was innocent and was the one who brought the claims to light months ago. It seems he is referring to a claim of sexual assault that his ex-girlfriend, Ziya Abashae, brought against him in January 2024. She is also the victim in this official suit.
As explained in his Tuesday livestream, Blackburn, who also represents several Diddy accusers, is targeting him. Akademiks wants to know why he is just now filing a lawsuit against him and believes it has something to do with a settlement proposal. The attorney tried to get Ak to settle before the documents were filed. When that wasn’t done, the aggressive legal rep apparently moved forward with the lawsuit.
In her suit, Abashe says she met Ak in 2021, and they began dating soon after. During their brief romance, Abashe was invited to his home in July 2022, where she claims her drink was spiked and the men raped her. Ak then woke her up later to rape her again. She claims the podcast host even showed her surveillance footage of the assaults.
