Jemele Hill recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to question Cam’ron‘s explanation for his controversial CNN appearance, stating that “something ain’t adding up.” Hill, drawing from her extensive experience with CNN, highlighted that producers typically inform guests about the segment topics and questions in advance. For new guests, a “pre-interview” is usually conducted to ensure they are well-prepared.
Hill speculated two possible scenarios:
- A producer failed to inform Cam’ron or his team about the questions.
- Cam’ron or someone on his team knew the questions but chose to use the opportunity as a publicity stunt. Alternatively, someone in his camp might have failed to relay the information and is unlikely to admit their mistake.
Hill added, “If a producer not being on their job led to this, today is going to be a tough day for that person.”
So, something ain’t adding up. I’ve done CNN hundreds of times, including Abby’s show. Before every single appearance, a producer tells me or someone on my team what my segment is about and the types of questions that I’ll be asked. If you aren’t a regular, the producers… https://t.co/lRsv6XuLwP

Cam’ron’s appearance on CNN, where he was asked about a graphic video of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie, quickly went viral. During the interview with Abby Phillip, Cam’ron sipped his PinkHorsePower supplement and mentioned his plans to have sex after the interview, refusing to elaborate on Diddy’s situation. This behavior drew criticism online for being unprofessional.
In the latest episode of his show “It Is What It Is,” Cam’ron addressed the interview, expressing frustration that CNN didn’t invite him to discuss his positive contributions to the community. He noted that he and Mase have a successful podcast airing five times a week and are involved in youth mentorship, yet CNN chose to focus on negative issues.
“We do all these positive things, and you call me on CNN for the bullshit, I’m gonna give you the bullshit. That’s just what’s gonna happen,” Cam’ron said, adding that he was upset he didn’t get to promote more of his products.
