Diddy has reportedly told at least one close friend that there was a larger “agenda” surrounding the release of the viral assault video of his then-girlfriend, Cassie, from 2016.

A source close to Diddy told The New York Post that the embattled mogul is furious about the video’s release and insists that it only tells half the story.

“He’s incensed,” the source said. “Especially about the video. He insists it doesn’t tell the full story of what happened. Not that he’s excusing it, but he says it’s a selective video.”

The source continued, “It’s his position that there was an agenda in releasing the video when it was released. But ultimately, he knows that his big concern is the raids on his house; the Cassie video is just a distraction.”

Cassie recently broke her silence about the release of the heart-wrenching video. The R&B singer issued a statement on Instagram on Thursday (May 23) addressing both the attack and the outpouring of support she has received since the video surfaced last week.

“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning,” she began.

“Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

Cassie, who sued ex-boyfriend Diddy for rape, domestic violence, and sex trafficking last November, also urged doubters and critics to be more inclined to believe victims of abuse when they come forward.

“Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to take this matter seriously. My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time,” she continued. “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth about a situation you were powerless in.

“I offer my hand to those who are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never-ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love Always, Cassie.”
