Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed to legally change her name. A source says Shiloh wants to drop “Pitt” from her last name and go by “Shiloh Jolie.”
She filed the name change documents on her 18th birthday, May 27th, as first reported by TMZ.
Jolie and Pitt, once a famous Hollywood couple, have six children together: Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh, Pax (20), and twins Knox and Vivienne (15).
Shiloh isn’t the only child who seems to have changed their name. In the Playbill for the musical “The Outsiders,” which Vivienne worked on with her mom, she is listed as “Vivienne Jolie” instead of her full name, according to PEOPLE.
It’s unclear if Vivienne legally changed her name.
Last November, their eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during a sorority event at Spelman College, based on a video from Essence.
These name changes come after years of reported tensions between Pitt and his kids, following Jolie filing for divorce and sole custody in 2016.
In August 2022, a source told PEOPLE that Pitt, 60, hoped to improve his relationship with his children amid the ongoing custody battle. The source said, “It’s been a sad situation for years” and that Pitt often went long periods without seeing the kids.
“Since Angelina filed for divorce, Brad has been focused on having the best relationship possible with his kids,” the source said. “It’s been very difficult for him. Many times, there have been long gaps where he didn’t see the kids at all.”
Jolie’s lawyer stated, “All Angelina has ever wanted was separation and health, with positive relationships between all members of their family, including Mr. Pitt.”
