Angel Reese Applauds Hard Foul on Caitlin Clark During Sky-Fever Game [Video]

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever secured a win against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, but the game turned physical, with a hard foul on Clark drawing applause from her rival, Angel Reese.

The Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis was packed for the first WNBA match-up between Reese and Clark, rekindling their college rivalry.

The game was intense, and the Fever celebrated their second win of the season. However, Clark was not pleased with the body check from Reese’s teammate, Chennedy Carter.

The controversial incident occurred in the third quarter of the close game when Clark was waiting for an inbound pass. Out of nowhere, Carter shoved Clark hard, sending her crashing to the floor.

Reese, who was on the bench at the time, jumped out of her seat and applauded the hard foul.

Reese also had a physical encounter with Clark in the fourth quarter, appearing to throw her arm at Clark and sending her to the ground again.

Despite the rough play, Clark’s Fever won 71-70, marking their second victory of the season. Angel Reese scored 8 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Caitlin Clark had 11 points and 8 rebounds.

This physical play has been a recurring theme in the young WNBA season, with Clark frequently facing aggressive defenses. So far, the physicality has largely gone unchecked.

Clark and the Fever will face the Chicago Sky again on June 16th, promising another wild and physical game.
