Cardi B’s Public Feuds Explained

Cardi B may be known for bangers and fire looks, but her increasing number of feuds has also drawn significant public attention.

The Grammy-winning superstar known for her unapologetic demeanor, which is the reason fans fell in love with her, has been involved in several high-profile spats throughout her career. Her most notable battle has been with fellow New York giant Nicki Minaj, which seems to have kicked off shortly after Cardi got into the industry. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be Cardi’s last conflict, some of which didn’t include rappers at all.

Beyond her clash with the “Pink Friday” lyricist, Cardi famously feuded with conservative commentator Tomi Lahren in 2019 on Twitter, where they traded insults over political issues, particularly after Cardi began speaking out about government and societal issues.

With a fresh beef with Bia over copying allegations, it’s apparent that with more money comes more problems for Belcalis. Let’s revisit some of her most iconic feuds that have left us too shocked to look away.

Cardi B & Nicki Minaj

The tension between the two escalated over the years, though it’s not immediately clear how it began. Some speculate that record labels pinned the women against one another. Others believe they traded musical disses early. Nevertheless, it culminated in a 2018 physical altercation at a New York Fashion Week event. The incident, which saw Cardi B hurling a shoe at Nicki Minaj, made headlines worldwide. Both artists have since taken jabs at each other through social media and interviews, keeping the feud alive in the public eye.

Cardi B & JT

Their drama came to a head when JT congratulated GloRilla on “Tomorrow 2” debuting at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, the City Girl rapper didn’t mention Cardi, who is featured on the record. This would eventually lead to the women exchanging shots on Twitter, with Cardi referring to JT as a “lap dog,” presumably for her ties to Nicki Minaj. JT then mentioned the “Bodak Yellow” performer, telling her to “fetch a real talent.” It appears they talked things out in the DM, but there are rumors that the ladies still are not friendly with one another.

Cardi B vs. Candace Owens

The controversial media personality called Cardi “illiterate” in 2020 following her interview with President Joe Biden. Candace Owens also slammed Cardi for her sexually charged, “WAP,” which she felt was detrimental to her female fansbase. More recently, Cardi defended pornography after Owens declared the adult content should be canceled altogether. 

Cardi B vs. Tasha K

The beef with Tasha K began when the blogger spread lies about the former dancer on her platforms. As the story goes, Cardi reportedly asked her several times to delete the salacious claims, which falsely accused Belcalis of having an STD. However, when she refused, Cardi sued the YouTuber, winning in January 2022. She was awarded $4 million, but the rapper has had a difficult time collecting her settlement. 

Cardi B vs. Bia

Seemingly a fairly new feud, Cardi and Bia’s problem stems from the track, “Like What.” Bia felt that this song copied her style and allegedly began sending subtweets toward Cardi. Things escalated when Cardi dropped her guest verse on the “Wanna Be” remix, which took aim at Bia. Not one to back down, Bia fired back with a diss track, “Sue Me,” which accused Cardi of cheating on her husband.
