Georgia State Rep. Who Also Presented Herself as a Veteran and OBGYN Maintains She’s A Member Of Delta Sigma Theta Despite There Being No Record Of Her [Video]

A state representative who made headlines after her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority membership was questioned has issued an apology.

Angela Moore, who represents District 91 in DeKalb and Rockdale counties, has been accused by her colleagues and sorority members of lying about her affiliation with the organization. When speaking with WSB-TV Channel 2’s Audrey Washington, Moore apologized for the mix-up. However, she maintained she is indeed a member despite there being no record of her pledging.

“I’m so sorry that we had to take you through this,” Moore shared with the outlet, adding, “This is not something that I wanted to go on.”

Moore explained that there is no record of her pledging because she joined Delta Sigma Theta under her previous marriage name. After she divorced her ex-husband, Moore argues she changed her name, which explains why no one can find her in the DST documents. During the interview, Moore refused to list her previous name.

Another inconsistency has been with Moore’s professional accolades. Several people claimed Moore once presented herself as an OB/GYN, though there is also no proof of this. Moore confessed during her chat that she was not actually an obstetrician/gynecologist but, instead, had worked in a practice. Another unproven claim was her previously serving in the military, though this is still unclear, as Moore described herself as a “family veteran.”

“Whether I’m a Greek, or whether I’m a physician, or whether I’m a veteran has anything (sic) to do with me coming here to the Georgia State Capitol and conducting the people’s business,” she declared before confirming that she would not step down.
