Whoopi Goldberg wowed fans on Wednesday, when she assembled the “Sister Act 2” choir to perform “Oh Happy Day” in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary.
Goldberg brought the soulful choir to “The View” set, where she was also in character, dressed as Sister Deloris. The moment sparked nostalgia amongst lovers of the cult classic. With “Sister Act 3” confirmed and in the works, the moment allowed many to revisit the film and several of its singers. The stunning reunion sparked emotions from both viewers and Goldberg, who was seen getting emotional at the end of the performance.

However, some people online wondered why Lauryn Hill, who played a young Catholic schoolgirl and singer Rita Watson in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, was not included. Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View, shared that she was invited and that “every effort” was made to get her on the show, though it sadly did not happen.
While there is no definitive release date for “Sister Act 3,” Goldberg certainly gave supporters of the first two films a memorable moment.
