Demonte Alif Jackson has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a 2019 robbery at the home of Houston rapper Bun B and his wife, Queenie, Fox 26 Houston reports. The sentencing took place on Friday, with Bun B himself taking the stand to testify.
Jackson faced serious charges, including aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with intent to commit another felony. He pleaded guilty to these charges in December 2019.
The incident happened in April 2019. According to Queenie’s statement to the police, she heard the doorbell ring and answered it, thinking it was a package delivery. Instead, Jackson, wearing a mask, forced his way into the house, demanding money and valuables. Queenie quickly told him to take their car from the garage.
Bun B, who was upstairs at the time, heard the commotion. He grabbed his pistol and went to the garage to confront the intruder. Bun B and Jackson both exchanged fire, ending with Jackson falling out of the car.
Jackson tried to escape down the street, but Bun B pursued him, holding him at gunpoint and pulling off his mask. Jackson managed to break free and later appeared at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
