During an outing in Hollywood, TMZ caught up with the couple, who made it clear that the negative comments won’t affect their relationship. Michele and Green stated that they actively avoid social media and remain indifferent to the harsh remarks.
“I don’t know what people’s problem is,” the 39-year-old influencer said. “Two adults being in love, I don’t know why that would rub people the wrong way. It’s kind of weird. Love is love at the end of the day.”
She added, “We try to stay off the internet and not listen to that kind of stuff. We block it out and mind our business,” with the 22-year-old NBA star responding, “We also don’t care.”
Their relationship has been a hot topic in pop culture, given their 17-year age difference. Michele and Green have been romantically linked since August 2023 and announced they were expecting their first child together in March. The announcement received significant backlash, with social media users labeling Michele as a “predator” for being involved with a younger man. In response, Michele took to Instagram to address the criticism, claiming she was “misunderstood.”
“Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension,” Michele wrote. “Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly—let that be enough.”
