The New Orleans Pelicans announced changes in their front office and made a historic promotion that highlights the growth of basketball. First reported by Shams Charania, the Pelicans have promoted former WNBA All-Star Swin Cash to Vice President of Basketball Operations.
This promotion made Cash one of the highest-ranking women in the Association after six years with the team. Swin is well known for her contributions on the court, winning at every level. She has two college championships at the University of Connecticut, three WNBA championships, and two Olympic gold medals.
Cash played with five teams over 15 years, earning four All-Star selections and being named a member of the WNBA’s 20th and 25th Anniversary teams.
In addition to this announcement, the Pelicans also named Bryson Graham the new General Manager of the team, replacing Trajan Langdon, who left for the same job with the Detroit Pistons.
This monumental moment will be looked upon in the future as an influential step forward in the world of basketball.
