Jayson Scott, the 23-year-old son of rapper Remy Ma, was arraigned on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting in South Jamaica, Queens, NY. Scott and his accomplice, Richard Swygert, face serious charges related to the 2021 murder of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux.

Scott’s indictment includes seven counts: first and second-degree murder, four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and reckless endangerment in the first degree. Swygert, who was also formally charged on Tuesday, was already in custody for the January 1, 2021 murder of 20-year-old Robert Williams outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens.

According to the NYPD, Scott allegedly shot Guillebeaux following a dispute on June 7, 2021. Swygert, 22, was charged as well in connection to Guillebeaux’s murder. At the time of his arrest, Swygert was already facing charges for the August 12, 2021 murder of 22-year-old Dominick Malivert, who was shot multiple times at the K-Show Bar on 138th Street in Flushing. Swygert is now linked to three murders within eight months.

Both Scott and Swygert were held without bail. Scott faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of the top count, while Swygert faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. The judge ordered both defendants to return to court on July 31.
