A mystery is developing surrounding ex-NFL star Daniel Muir and his missing 14-year-old son, Bryson.
The situation unfolded on June 16th, when Bryson was last seen in Cleveland, Ohio, at his grandmother Cheryl Wright’s home. She alerted police after observing Bryson with a black eye, busted lip, and swollen face. The teenager admitted to Wright that his father was the one who caused his injuries.
“He just said that his dad did it, but he wasn’t angry, but he wasn’t angry at his father. He told me that he deserved it and it was OK. So I told him that it wasn’t and that nobody should beat their children like that, not if they love them,” Wright told NBC affiliate WTHR.
Bryson was picked up by his mother, Kristen Muir, days later in a white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban from Wright’s home. However, when police pulled Kristen’s car over a short time later, Bryson was not in the vehicle.
Due to the injuries allegedly sustained by Daniel, a domestic battery investigation was launched by the Cass County Department of Child Services in Logansport, Indiana, where he lived with his parents. Police tried several times to locate the family at their home but were unable to do so. Things came to a head on Friday, June 28th, when Daniel and Kristen were scheduled to bring Bryson to a meeting with investigators. However, the parents and Bryson were a no-show. It was at this point that investigators claim the parents stopped cooperating.
A silver alert was issued for Bryson and included a photo of his blackened eye. Wright believes that the Muirs are hiding the boy so people won’t see his many wounds.
Daniel played for multiple NFL teams between 2007 and 2014, including the Indianapolis Colts for four seasons. After retirement, Daniel worked as a motivational speaker and was seemingly a pastor.
